The rain in Spain stays, mainly

[April 19, Arcos de la Frontera]

IMGP3441 We are in Arcos de la Frontera, and so is the rain.

Unseasonable (and global-warming-politically-incorrect) rain and cold has dogged us off and on during the trip, beginning with Porto, hitting hard in Santiago de Compostela, and again here in Arcos. My unwontedly beefy appearance in this photo is not due to the Spanish meat-and-potatoes diet, but to a 40+ mile/hour wind billowing my hastily acquired rain gear. (I am standing, by the way, in the 15th c. "magic circle" outside the cathedral in Arcos, where mothers brought their babies for a good Christian exorcism prior to baptism. Can't be too careful, you know.)

IMGP3460 Ah, sunny Spain.
